Analyse the building and be aware of the rules and regulations
In a project of this magnitude, obviously it will be necessary to enlist the help of an architect. They will survey the house to determine the deficiencies of the building, in order to decide if it is better to conserve or demolish it. The architect will also have to check all the regulations: General Plan of Urban Development and the ordinances to know what work is allowed to be carried out on the property.
Data collection and sample analysis
With all the information reviewed, the architect will return to the site to collect data. They will take samples to determine the original state of the house and analyze the state of the foundations, roofs, framing or pavement.
Drafting the project
Once all the data has been collected and the regulations are known, the architect will draw up the project and we’ll start to have an idea of the budget and the necessary licenses.

It is important to ask for several estimates showing the work to be done, taling unforeseen events into consideration.
