Consider renting
The fact of putting your property in the hands of a real estate agency to rent means that there will be a professional looking after the property while looking for tenants. When the property is then rented out, not only will it remain occupied, but the owner will also make a profit from the monthly rent.
Installing security systems
The first thing to think about is to install an alarm that is connected to the police so that they can act immediately in the event that the property is occupied, by alleged breaking and entering, or robbery.
Similarly, if we include home automation systems on our property and we can manage certain elements even when we are away, such as opening and closing blinds or turning lights on and off, etc., it will look as if the home is inhabited and we can deter squatters.
Do not post anything on social networks or put up posters
Sometimes we are not aware that posting comments about our holidays on social networks can mean that we are giving information to people who want to occupy a property.
Likewise if we want to advertise our rental property, it is not advisable to put posters in the windows or on the terrace, as we will be implying that the property is unoccupied and pending being rented out.
